When will Chibi Chibi Con 2020 occur?
April 2020. We cannot give an exact date until Fall 2019, because that’s when the CRC can tell us their availability. We will make sure CCC 2020 does not clash with Sakura-Con or Blazercon! You can sign up for our email list here to know immediately when the date has been released each year.
Do attendees need to sign in anywhere or get tickets?
Not at all! Our con is free to attend and does not require any form of sign in. Please be sure to check our Code of Conduct for any details on attending our convention and campus space. Drop by the CRC for some free brochures on what is happening at the con!
When will Chibi Lite occur?
Although Chibi Lite is typically held every other year (2016, 2018..) as a way to test out some new ideas and train new coordinators, there will not be another Chibi Lite until the 2020-2021 school year at the earliest.
What applications are open as of now?
We are accepting portfolio submissions so that we can commission an artist to make our CCC 20th anniversary poster! You are still welcome to submit a poster design if you wish.
We are accepting panelist applications!
Volunteer applications are currently in the works, but we if you would love to be involved with CCC we would love to have you, just join our discord!
Find out more details about all of these both on the sites linked as well as our events page!
Where can I find food on campus?
There are several dining options around campus:
The Greenery on the CAB Building first floor, buffet dining open 11:00AM to 2:00PM and 5:00PM to 8:00PM
The Market Place on the CAB Building second floor, selling pizza, burritos, coffee, fruit, and prepared foods like sandwiches. Microwaves available here. Open 7:30AM to 7:00PM.
Einstein Bros Bagels in SEM II B first floor, selling bagels, drinks, and other breakfast/lunch fare. 8:30AM to 9:00PM.
P.O.D. Market in HCC by housing, selling assorted snacks and food staples. Microwaves available here. 12:00PM to 8:00PM.
Popcorn will be sold in Purce Hall until 9PM for $3 a bag, (purchase of movie ticket not required).
Can I bring my own food to the convention?
Yes! If you do, make sure not to leave a mess. But we don’t want our artists or vendors going hungry. We would also highly recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated (there are lots of water fountains around campus).
Is there an ATM on campus?
Yes! There is a single ATM on campus, it is a WSECU ATM. It is located in the second floor of the CAB (the purple building on the map above). The line can get long and it sometimes charges fees, if possible visit an ATM before you arrive!
Are furries allowed at this convention?
Yep! Just make sure that if you’re wearing a mask over your face or head you can remove it quickly if asked by Evergreen police services.
Why can’t you release the date for CCC earlier?
We would love to release the date ASAP each year, but certain paperwork must be approved by Evergreen before the date is released, and much of that paperwork cannot be accessed until the fall quarter. We understand how frustrating this can be, but hosting the event at Evergreen is what allows it to be free for everyone. Thanks for your understanding!
So… are you guys a non-profit? Where does the money come from for all of this?
Nope! We are an Evergreen State College Registered Student Organization, so we are essentially a school club, that just happens to run a large event. We are treated the same as any other RSO, we get the same cubicle space and support from staff! Our coordinators are just like any other Greener.
Our money is stored in a special revenue account, under TESC. We have gotten enough money to pay for all this through fundraising every year! Artist Alley/Vendor Row tabling fees, Chibi Cafe sales, movie tickets and popcorn sales all go towards funding the next year of Chibi! Money generated by Chibi Chibi Con does not go towards paying staff or volunteers. Our coordinators (1-3 people) receive a stipend, throughout the school year, that the school (Student Activities department), covers.
